Phone Recovery – Mainly Water Damage

without comments

Since my recent post on retrieving files from damaged and broken phones (see here), I’ve had many more questions from people wanting help getting their data back – here are just some of them:

My phone died and it seems to be a motherboard overheating problem. I’m looking for a quote and to see if it would be possible to get my photos of a samsung s6 that won’t turn on.

water damaged phone

Sea water damaged Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. Pushed my luck testing the waterproof capability of phone, snorkelling on honeymoon. Not designed for sea water obviously. Limited damage, not a complete brick but enough to stop access to data by normal methods. Taken phone apart and dried and cleaned up a bit. Only bothered about getting wedding and honeymoon photos and videos back really.

All my pics from the 18months have disappeared from my Motorola phone. I have a memory card formated as internal storage.
The card is showing 11GB of used space but I can only view around 58KB of data.
Is there anyway of getting my pics back?

My phone has been diagnosed by the tech medics in st albans as having the ‘white light of death‘ which is described as non repairable however they have recommended me to yourselves regarding a potential repair/data recover at least. The phone is a samsung s7 and whilst I do need to check I still believe it to be under warranty. My primary concern is the photographs that I fear I may now have lost. I’d greatly appreciate your help – most accesible via email.

My galaxy s7 edge was remotely data wiped and I lost all my photos of my little one. Samsung cloud only saved all my contacts not my photos. I am desperately hoping you can help.

I have a water damaged iPhone 5s and would like to recover the photos from it. I was told that I would need to get the main board replaced to access the data on the chip. I was wondering if this is a service you offer and roughly how much it would cost?

Water damaged phone Samsung A3 – wont turn on. I would like to recover my photos if possible

My iPhone is stuck in a reboot loop. Hard reset a phone to try to get it working properly and lost all of my numbers

iPhone 4 has board damage (corrosion) and the data chip would most likely need to be removed in order to be read, how much would this likely cost?

Phone Honor 7. Phone has stopped taking a charge and is completely dead now. It is under warranty but Huawei have told me that the memory will be wiped by them if I send it for repair. Therefore I can not transfer the data from this phone to the new one I now have.

My iphone5c went through the washing machine on accidnent and i lost many photos from a recent holiday and many photos that have sufficient meaning to me and my phone wont turn on at all so i would to know if i could have my files and photos recovered?

Just a reminder: – If you are wanting your phone recovered, my advice is to go to a data recovery company – I recommend plenty on the blog you are reading !

I’ve lost my data

without comments

I’ve recently had an email from UK hard drive specialists http://www.recover-deleted-data.co.uk/, I have a problem with my 5TB Seagate external hard drive. I can’t remember now how i formatted the disk once i bought it (it was maybe just few months ago, so it’s not even an old disk) but i was using it on my MacBook. It stopped working maybe a week ago. The only reason I can think of why, is that I knocked it down once or twice that same day but I didn’t drop it from any height, it was simply standing up on its side on the floor and I just accidentally knocked it down with my foot. But even after that it was working fine, when I needed to take it back to the bedroom I had problem ejecting it (i think because uTorrent app was using it), so I simply disconnected it without ejecting and after that I couldn’t get it working anymore. Once I connect it I can hear it start to spin it but after few seconds it just stops, but the blue light stays on. I don’t know much about these things, but i’m hoping (it looks like) no serious damage has been done and most importantly all my content is still there. I’m sure you deal with these kind of problems every day and you know how important for people is the data that was inside the drive so I don’t need to explain how important that is for me :D
I know you probably can’t tell what the problem is without seeing the drive, but since money is tight at the moment for us, I would like to know how much approximately you could charge for something like this?
You guys must be good, you’ve got great reviews, so I’d be pretty confident to leave it in your hands, because the content that’s in there means a lot to me, I couldn’t just accept losing pretty much anything what’s there..
Could you please let me know what you think of my situation, are there some risks to lose the data, and anything else that i should know about? I’m sorry for the silly questions, i’m just very worried. Sometimes not recognising external hard drive and even when it does it is showing no data.

Now, it doesn’t seem that there’s a serious problem with the hard drive – ie. it’s not a mechanical problem or an electronic problem. Instead it’s to do with data on the hard drive. It should be recoverable if you send it to a company like Recover Deleted Data.
